Nick County is a journeyman songwriter and lifelong student of country music who has subverted the genre to fit his needs as a tropical cowboy hanging his hat in Miami.
His second solo album Cocorico Simpatico Corazon was a family affair– recorded in Miami and LA, with a collection of old and new compadres, scattered around the country and playing in bands such as Gemma, Vampire Weekend, Krisp, Rick Moon, and the Jacuzzi Boys.
With D.A Stern producing, this disparate gang of latinos and gringos, dubbed, The Rainbow Smoke, is a dish of country and rock n roll best served with a mango batido and a cafecito to settle it all down.
Upcoming single “Racetrack” (to be released digitally June 25), is a song that revels in the liberties of making the wrong choice for the right reasons. “If You Still Love Me” (to be released digitally July 9th), is half Fleetwood Mac half Tom Petty, with a dash of Waylon Jennings and a splash of Dire Straits.
Nick County and The Rainbow Smoke – Cocorico Simpatico Corazón will be available on all platforms August 1st on Public Works.
